Orlando Blooms in Nepal
Â
The Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom is following in the footsteps of Lucy Lieu, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Alyssa Milano. He too, being a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, came to the sub-continent to spread the message of cheer and goodwill. This time the destinations were the western districts of Kaski and Chitwan in Nepal.
Bloom was deglamorised the way his other counterparts were as he mingled with the kids and shared stories and smiles. He was officiated a warm welcome but it was the innocence of the kids that won him over. In a village called Pokhara, he even played a small role in a mini-drama which the blind kids were recording that day. And if that wasn’t all, his active participation in the UNICEF-supported radio programme ‘Saathi Sanga Manka Kura’ (Chatting with My Best Friend) left quite an impression.
Many would claim that it was a publicity stunt on behalf of the star. But it sure did bring a smile to so many innocent faces.
