Naturally Beautiful

School of ArtÂ
The new School of Art, Design and Media located at Nanvang Ave and Nanvang Drive is any environmentalist’s dream come true as it sits pretty in a wooded valley in the heart of the campus. But the highlight of the building is the verdant turfed roof which gels so well with the ground contour. Agreed, the visual impact is breathtaking. The roof has a functional purpose too as it is easily accessible by the sidesteps along the roof edge, thereby allowing the interested a bite of the scenic beauty of the place.

Not only that, it is ecofriendly too. The roof structure keeps the roof temperature low and that of the surrounding areas. The façade design is basically a grey coloured glass curtain wall. The remaining parts of the building are concrete walls which have been beautified by paintings. The external finish of the building is preserved in its primary condition. This restores its naturalness. As the night sets in, a brilliant lighting system endows the whole structure a unique magnificence that sits pretty in the lap of nature.
