World’s largest LED Chandelier: A Green feast For Geeks

LED Chandelier

It was long ago when lighting industry ventured into manufacturing eco-friendly accessories via low energy LEDs. But lately they have invaded into manufacturing of energy efficient chandeliers. As a result of this we have the honor to witness the world’s largest chandelier designed by the Meyda Tiffany chandelier company. Currently, it embellishes the Stanley theatre located in Utica New York. Equipped with 328 LEDs manufactured by Philips Luxeon, the chandelier consumes only 1120 watts of electricity. Its efficiency level shouldn’t be doubted, as it is seven times more efficient than traditional light bulbs. From here you can calculate the difference this LED technology can make to the ongoing eco-friendly mission.

The inserted LED’s live long almost 7.5 tomes more than the customary light bulbs. It is designed using steel, brown glass and acrylic and is 35 feet in diameter, 17 feet tall and weighs approx. 7000 pounds. Also, the chandelier is bathed in gold and bronze to go along with the Mexican Baroque Moorish concept. Must-say, the production of such elegant and green chandeliers can prove to be a worthy initiative towards cutting down the cost of electricity and the credit for this goes to innovative LED’s.
