Green Music-iTunes U introduces Environment Channel

Â
Music plays in the lap of Mother Nature. It can inspire and transform your life. It can keep you rooted to your cultural identity; it can help you save your planet. So can the green podcasts! This summer, Apple’s iTunes U has introduced a nouveau channel as an ode to nature’s diverse elements. The channel’s name is Environment and it contains a collection of podcasts from research institutes and university students. The channel has some 132tracks so far. It’s introduction has opened up a new medium to access today’s hottest debates on environmental issues and become a part of discussions. Although, there is a need of fresh content to be uploaded in this channel as most of the tracks seem to be relabeled after being picked up from other sections of iTunes U.

The motto of iTunes U is to facilitate both on and off campus learning. The idea is a fairly good one to introduce a channel that will keep the young minds in tune with the eco-issues. As of now, students have to be contented with podcasts on skeptical environmentalist Bjorn Lomborg to Arnold Schwarzenegger and writer Michael Pollan. But here’s hoping that Environment channels catches up on other planet issues and eventually emerge as a handy tool for educating the youth.
