Stanker’s Recycled Oil Drum Furniture for Future Home Décor

Wondering how to recycle your old rusted oil drums? May be French designer Francois Royer will show you an easy way to make them useful for decorating your home. The Stanker series is a collection of such oil barrels which have been molded into artistic pieces of furniture. The first among them was shaped in 2003 from an industrial oil drum and trolley wheels.

The designer then went on with his innovations and at present a whole compilation of them is available. A few of them are: An exceptional table whose top is made out of the drum shell and the legs sport a Louis XV look, a barrel cut out skillfully to make it a ledge, another drum converted into a chair, and the list goes on and on and on. Among the fascinating ones in the series are an offspring of an old washing machine drum and supermarket wheel made into a beautiful lighting table and a pen stand made out of nuts, bolts and screws.

Francois has combined imagination and skill to make these amazing pieces of furniture which will cheer ecologists and help others make an intelligent use of the junk in their yards.
