The i green kitchen is all about green revolution. Green because it’s new, fresh, and totally environment conscious. Revolution because the principle behind it is total change. This designed equipment is on its way to becoming a life-altering element. It’s about a new way of living. The i green kitchen is solid proof that design can help reduce environmental impact, and can contribute to the imperative need to address sustainability.
Designed along with Veneta Cuncine, the i green kitchen aims to help in promoting a kitchen lifestyle based on eco-friendly materials as much as organic food. The effect is total health. The design is vital in this day and age when environmental health is as much an imperative as personal health. While the materials of the i green kitchen are all renewable and have less environmental impact, the kitchen lifestyle espoused is also geared towards the use of organic food that has eliminated the idea of using harsh chemicals for growth. i green kitchen is, quite obviously, an idea whose time has come.

A photovoltaic module is an interconnected assemblage of photovoltaic cells that are more commonly known as solar cells. In turn, an installation or assembly of photovoltaic modules or panels is known as solar panel. In October of 2008 at the Solar Power International show in San Diego, California, Schott Solar Inc. unveils its latest innovation: a new 225-watt, polycrystalline photovoltaic module. Dubbed Schott Solar Poly 225, this is state-of-the-art application for solar energy.
Schott Solar Inc is investing $100 million on a 200,000 square-foot factory for their newest photovoltaic module Albuquerque, New Mexico. The plant will focus on the production of the company’s 225-watt photovoltaic modules and receivers for concentrating solar thermal power plants.

While traditional solar panels are flat, the Solyndra solar panel system is cylindrical. The old flat panels can get sun rays only at an angle. The innovative cylindrical ones can capture the power of the sun at multiple angles. The result is amazing: more watts per square foot than the old flat panels. That amounts to maximum harvest of solar energy. Installation also comes at greater comparative ease that reduces cost for the user as well. Solyndra is clearly a cost-efficient product all throughout, in both reduced installation cost and more efficient power generation with the use of solar energy.
With Solyndra solar panels, sunlight is more efficiently transformed into electricity because the cylindrical solar cells catch the sun’s rays from a 360-degree photovoltaic surface. The effect is direct conversion because of more effective diffusion and reflection of sunlight. Additionally, Solyndra panels are packed more tightly on horizontal mounting. This means better and more significant coverage of roof space. The result is more solar electricity.

The auto designer, Gabriel Wartofsky, created his latest green bus concept around such considerations as lithium ion batteries, climate control system, atmospheric ozone, solar cells, and energy efficient capacitors – all ideals in ecological vehicle design. It is exhilarating to note that this powerful transportation does not harm the environment nor subject its passengers to the harsh effects of pollution on the road.
In an interview granted to the Washington Post in 2005, Wartofsky admitted that he never owned a car. He rides trains, buses, and the trusty bike. It is no small wonder that Wartofsky has been obsessed with designing the ultimate in urban transport: an ecologically-sound bus. The green bus has been designed for and in consideration of the environmental problems posed by urban commute such as traffic and pollution.

If you had wanted to live in a futuristic house that not only looked extra-terrestrial but is also green and sustainable, you may consider the awesome looking dome homes from Solaleya. The dome home rotates and faces the sun right from morning till evening and also saves on electricity that way. The domes are built using a special FSC-certified wood.
If that isn’t all, the dome can withstand hurricane and cyclone level rains. Designer Solaleya is proud to say that the energy saving device produces low consumption levels. The house is both admirable and worthy to own. Looks like Solaleya has a number of plans and designs up its sleeve. The fact that the dome shaped house is a sustainable one makes it all the more attractive and must prove to be an inspiration to other designers who could also go ahead and design buildings and houses that are sustainable.

While most of us just leave our desktops and notebooks on for hours on the go without actually worrying about how much energy they are consuming, we end up causing a significant damage to the planet. The fact that you are not just consuming power even when not needed is bad enough, but if you add the carbon emissions to the list then it becomes far worse. Sure, a more energy-conscious PC will not help avert the next global disaster but saving those little nuggets of energy world over could ultimately make a huge difference. The Dell Concept PC designed by Luis Luna helps you go green with your PC in a fresh and vibrant fashion.
The O Project Dell personal computer is an eco-friendly computer that features a biodegradable skin composed of polymers based on cornstarch and bamboo. The O Project allows you to grow tiny little plants in those small pods making your home look a lot more beautiful than normal. Now if only we could add some energy saving features, a cool stand-by mode and energy-conscious screen, we would have the perfect green PC.

It seems that more and more companies across the globe are taking steps towards producing eco-friendly line of desktops and notebooks. Dell, ASUS, Samsung, Lenovo and Sony have all joined the green bandwagon. Surely someone will pick the O Project Concept of Luis Luna!

Biodegradable plastic would be a welcome change that will surely take us to our world of green. A young NY based company Perf Go Green has come up with a range of products from commercial trash bags to plastic drop cloths that will help reduce plastic waste.
Looking at the hug mass of plastic that hits the garbage dump, the introduction of biodegradable alternative would be a big step towards a greener earth.
Good news is that Perf Go Green products incorporate recycled plastics, combining them with Oxo-Biodegradable proprietary method. This method makes their bags easily decomposable into simple products when exposed to microorganisms, moisture and oxygen; contrary to regular plastic that takes hundreds of years to breakdown.
If true, this would be a breakthrough!

Samsung has been on a bit of a blazing green trial in the last six months as it is trying its best to launch a series of eco-friendly products. They have already launched Notebooks, Mobiles and Desktops in this series and are constantly adding more. All of these ‘green’ products may not really be all that good for the planet and you may not really like many of them. But there is always a chance that you could end up picking one from the lot and doing your little bid to help save the planet fro warming up faster!
Samsung has brought out two new desktops that share common specs including Intel’s G43 Chipset along with a choice between GeForce 9500GS with 512MB of VRAM and GeForce 9600GT with 512MB of VRAM. Both desktops apparently have an “eco-saving mode” that results in 60 watt energy consumption by the computers; both only consume one watt during standby. The price and the details are still not clear on both the models.
This really is not all that much both in terms of choice and green features. But when it comes to going green, every little thing counts. Maybe you can pick one of these up in case you happen to like them a tad bit more than the others.
