Technology has always tried to make use of the forces of nature for the betterment of humankind and nature in its own way has enthused man with its perfection and aptitude. Inspired by these forces Solar Botanic has planned to generate power through artificial trees. Ultra Green Paper
Paper not made from tree is sure to attract everybody’s interest. A Chicago paper company has come up with what they call Ultra Green paper. And the best part is that no trees are cut or water is used for the manufacturing. Made from inorganic mineral powders derived from limestone and calcium carbonate, Ultra Green neither uses chlorine nor becomes yellow or brittle even when exposed to sunlight for long.
Isn’t that just too good to be true? Wait, there’s more. The paper is resistant to water, grease and oils and can easily be used outdoors without any fear of decomposition. On top of this, it is priced 30 per cent below the regular paper because it saves on the water and tree costs. So it seems like a win-win situation for both the producers and the consumers.
By the way, the Environmental Defense calculated that if one ton of Ultra Green paper replaces a ton of traditional paper, 20 trees will be saved.

‘Green is in’ and it seems to be growing ‘in’ to a way of life that is becoming a part of our homes more and more with each passing day. There was a time when people perceived green gadgets as ungainly stuff that would appear out of place in their sophisticated and stylish homes. But today perception has been radically altered by modern designers who are capable of weaving magic via their production of revolutionary gadgets. Eco-friendly gadgets and alternate sources of energy are now more popular than ever before thanks to their innovative designs.

Photosynthesis is a device by designer Vivien Muller, which is a solar-cell bonsai lookalike, tree charger. You can charge your cell, your Mp3 player or a number of other electronic gadgets by plugging in to the tree. With its’ 57 photovoltaic panels, the sun can power your tree during the day. Obviously you need to place it close to a window with plenty of sunshine and it will just go about doing its job quietly.
While the entire concept looks great and the ‘Metallic’ look is really futuristic, it would have been nice if it had little dots of LED that would be powered up at night to create a more spectacular visual display. Since LEDs consume little power, it would still be ideal for charging up your gadgets. Irrespective of all that, Photosynthesis lives up to its name for sure.

Out cute li’l Walle-E is out to save the world once again. Yes, after getting the lazy ‘Earthians’ return to their planet from space and rebuild it, Pixar’s latest animated character is now busy in a charade against the Kleenex guys. Inspired by the Wall-E flick, Greenpeace has decided to extend its environmental themes by showing deforestation practices by the renowned tissue-brand Kleenex to the world.
Famous animator Mark Flore too has teamed up with this Greenpeace venture to create a cartoon that has Wall-E discovering a queer robot called Kleer-E. Upon pressing the button on Kleer-E, Wall-E finds himself watching a video that gives details about how Kleenex clear cuts trees leaving nothing but stumps behind.
There’s more to that. Ironically, the Kleenex boxes in the market flaunt Wall-E on their boxes along with a “This box is made from 100% recycled paper”, the tissues inside are actually made from trees that are cut down mercilessly by the Kleenex folks.
So, a direct attack by Greenpeace and with Wall-E at their side they are sure to succeed.

In today’s life, solar innovations are outstandingly stimulating our lives and making a world greener place to survive. But merely drawing on solar energy in a typical and accustomed style is not much conspicuous in today’s voguish epoch. We need to come up with exciting thoughts enclosing ‘out of the box’ thinking. Putting in solar powered Lamps on streets is indeed a constructive way of accumulating energy throughout the day and then making the most of it at night. But to make this relevance extra substantial and beguiling Vienna, has premeditated a new concept wherein as a substitute to poles, a number of audacious trees would be used for holding lamps.
This IDEA award winner conception formulated by Jongoh Lee seems to be a real delight for an ecofriendly and stylish chap as these solar activated lamps mingled into tree-striped lanes and walkways, apart from creating a greener environment assists in setting a dazzling and loving background at night as well. Although the lamp’s mounting shadowed under trees can form a qualm in our minds regarding the solar energy amassing knack of streetlamps yet we wish that this issue could be unraveled shortly by raising competence and effectiveness of solar charged lamps.
